In addition to the Atlas CareMap, we have been exploring and developing other tools to empower people to observe, visualize and analyze various aspects of their lives — our activities, moods, conversations, places, objects, etc. and the impact of these on themselves and the people they care for.
Many members of the Atlas staff and advisors are deeply involved in the Quantified Self movement, and draw inspiration from the experiments and creativity of this global community for tools that may be helpful to understand caregiving. We described the results of early experiments in our Mapping Santa Barbara study.
In collaboration with Giorgia Lupi, a partner at the Pentagram design agency, Atlas is engaged in developing new tools. Giorgia has extensive personal experience in visualizing life. With collaborator Stefanie Posavec, she has published Dear Data and Observe, Collect, Draw!.
