Sally’s Household

Sally lives with Pablo in a small town in California’s Central Valley. Pablo has many health conditions: XYY Chromosome Disorder, Hydrocephalus, mild mental retardation, anxiety, and behavioral and motor skill delays.

Sally worked as a lawyer before her caregiving responsibilities escalated. Sally has three children. Her oldest daughter lives about 30 minutes away. A younger daughter is in college and Pablo is the youngest. Sally’s husband left the family soon after Pablo was born.

She wants Pablo to be as independent as possible, however Sally worries because he doesn’t have an internal safeguard helping along in everyday things (like crossing the road).
